Ideal Option opens an addiction treatment clinic in Idaho Falls

Ideal Option, a national leader in evidence-based treatment for addiction to fentanyl, methamphetamine, alcohol and other substances, is already welcoming new patients to Idaho Falls. The new clinic, located at 380 N Capital Ave, Ste # 1, Idaho Falls, ID 83402, will provide outpatient treatment assisted by physicians (MAT).

With the increase in substance use and overdose levels during the pandemic, the opening of the new clinic comes at a time of great need. According to the Idaho Drug Enforcement Administration, 1,900 Idaho residents have died from overdose deaths in the first year of the pandemic, compared to 264 deaths in 2019. Governor Little attributes the drug overdose jump to an abundance of cheap methamphetamine supplies and fentanyl.

According to the Idaho State Police, about 20,000 fentanyl pills were seized in 2020, which is an incredible increase compared to the amount seized in 2019 (only 195 pills). In 2021, nearly 28,000 fentanyl pills have already been seized. Sergeant Kurt Sprout of the ISP said fentanyl was one of the most dangerous drugs he had seen in his career.

“Among our patients in Idaho, 42% tested positive for fentanyl at enrollment in September 2021, an increase of 242% over September 2020,” said Tim Kilgalon, CEO of Ideal Option. “Our providers are ready and equipped to manage fentanyl-dependent patients. Ideal Option has developed clinical protocols specifically designed to assist patients during the difficult phase of the transition from fentanyl to buprenorphine.

The new Ideal Option Clinic in Idaho Falls is open Monday through Thursday, 7:30 a.m. – 6 p.m., and is located at 380 N Capital Ave, Ste # 1, Idaho Falls, ID 83402.

Most forms of insurance are accepted, including Medicare and Medicaid, and patients can usually start treatment for fentanyl, heroin, alcohol or other substances within 1-3 working days.
