Alexander Ginzburg, head of the Gamalea Center, commented on the experiment with the planned combination of Sputnik V and AstraZeneca vaccines.

He noted that Russia has no plans to use such a combination for now. At the same time, he explained that the combined Sputnik V-AstraZeneca vaccine will provide immunity against the coronavirus for two years, Darik News reports.

According to him, AstraZeneca should start the third phase of clinical trials of the drug in those countries where it intends to use the combined drug.

The experiment will begin outside Russia. AstraZeneca is developing its vaccine in collaboration with the prestigious University of Oxford. With a shown efficacy of just over 70%, the Oxford vaccine expects to be able to raise this figure by at least 20%.
